Director of Nursing Awards

The Director of Nursing Awards, affectionately known as the DONAs, celebrate the outstanding dedication, care and compassion shown by Hampshire Hospitals’ ward and community staff.

They give patients and their relatives the opportunity to show how much they appreciate the exceptional nurses, midwives and therapy staff working for Hampshire Hospitals by nominating them for a special award.

"No matter what the future throws at us, I have the confidence that there will always be great people that will continue to serve and protect our health with compassion.

"Thank you for inviting me to your 2016 Director of Nursing Awards."

Cllr Jane Frankum, Mayor, Basingstoke and Deane

Staff who are eligible for the awards deliver care at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital, as well as Alton and Bordon community hospitals, other community locations, or in patients’ own home.

Patients and visitors can choose to nominate either an individual nurse, midwife or therapist, or a team of nurses, midwives or therapists.

The winners are announced during a glittering ceremony in the summer, with a range of awards up for grabs, including some chosen by our local Rotary groups and the Chief Medical Officer’s award, which is sponsored by HHFT’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Andrew Bishop.

You can submit your nominations until the end of April by completing the online nomination form.

Forms are also available around the hospitals or by contacting Karen O’Hanlon on 01256 313435 or
