Winchester-based IAC Acoustics have donated tables, chairs, bookcases and pedestals to the hospital after being made aware that such items would be useful by the wife of one of their employees.

Helen Boden is currently being treated at RHCH and during one of her visits she noticed that staff were in need of some more desks and chairs. She mentioned this to her husband, Richard, a project manager at IAC Acoustics, and he was able to link the hospital up with the company, who had some spare furniture they wanted to donate to good causes.

The furniture has now been delivered to the hospital and is being used in a variety of departments, including outpatients, audiology and catering.

Mike Campbell, managing director of IAC Acoustics, said: “We are pleased that the furniture has gone to a good home and that staff are benefitting from it. The staff working here do an amazing job and this is just one small way that we can do something to help.”

Donna Green, deputy chief executive of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Royal Hampshire County Hospital, added: “I would like to thank IAC Acoustics for this generous donation.

“In a hospital, medical equipment always comes first, but we are well aware that our office-based staff also need a good working environment, so we are really grateful for this donation.”
