Having qualified in Cambridge I worked as a Specialist Registrar in Northern Ireland and London.  I also spent a year gaining general and trauma experience in South Africa.  I spent the latter years of my training in specialist colorectal centres including a year at St Mark's Hospital in London where I was trained in laparoscopic (minimal access/keyhole) colorectal surgery.  My interests include laparoscopic colorectal surgery for bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, familial colorectal cancer and benign anal conditions (haemorrhoids and anal fistula).
