Additional information and comments

I am a full time consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist. I have weekly gynaecology and antenatal clinics and general operating sessions both in main theatres and the diagnosis and treatment centre (DTC). I have a labour ward session every week.

Over the last 15 years I have led a department which has one of the lowest caesarean section rates in the region with a focus on promoting and supporting normal birth wherever possible.

For older women I run a rapid access service for postmenopausal bleeding. Women are seen urgently and have an ultrasound scan and flexible hysteroscopy where necessary all in one visit. An early diagnosis of endometrial cancer or benign pathology is quickly achieved. For women with endometrial cancer I can provide continuity of follow up after treatment.

For over 3 years I have been divisional director for the maternal and child health division, incorporating maternity, child health and sexual health services.
