Kingfisher Rehabilitation Unit

Kingfisher ward is a 22 bed unit specialising in elderly rehabilitation. Our team can provide effective and realistic rehabilitation in a local community hospital.
Our ward philosophy includes this statement, ‘We pride ourselves by doing ordinary things extraordinarily well’.
Kingfisher ward can provide rehabilitation for a variety of patients including post orthopaedic procedure, post general surgery, for those with cardiac problems or recovering from serious infection.
We have a successful team of doctors, nurses and therapy staff who are all aiming to get our patient’s back on their feet and return home.
We provide a friendly community spirit within our ward.

Useful Information

We encourage our patients to get dressed everyday as you would do at home. Well fitting, comfortable and supportive footwear is essential.
All toiletries are required.
Snacks and drinks can be brought in, please check with the nurse that what you bring is suitable and safe.

All inpatient wards at Hampshire Hospitals have adopted John’s Campaign, which allows the carers of patients with dementia to stay in hospital with their loved ones if they wish.
