E1 (Medical)

Ward E1 is a 22 bedded Medical ward specialising in gastroenterology.

It consists of four six-bedded bays, all single sex, and four side rooms. The nursing staff on the ward have a wide range of skills and knowledge to assist in providing holistic care for our patients.

When joining the E1 nursing team, all nurses will be provided with a mentor and undergo a structured induction programme which is relevant to the ward speciality. This will include teaching sessions and work experience with members of the multi-disciplinary team.

All patients are treated with dignity and respect, and all aspects of their care are treated confidentially. We strive to deliver the highest possible standards of care to all our patients, and provide a supportive environment for their relatives and carers.

2pm - 8pm

All inpatient wards at Hampshire Hospitals have adopted John’s Campaign, which allows the carers of patients with dementia to stay in hospital with their loved ones if they wish.
