We currently have restricted visiting hours on Clark Ward and Victoria Ward at Royal Hampshire County Hospital. This is because there have been cases of Norovirus on those wards. Norovirus is more commonly known as the winter vomiting bug. For more information, click here www.nhs.uk/conditions/norovirus/Pages/Introduction.aspx

Visiting hours are restricted to one hour per day, from 6:30pm - 7:30pm only.

We strongly advise that you do not visit the hospital if you are experiencing any symptoms of diarrhoea or vomiting. You must be completely clear of these symptoms for at least 48 hours before visiting hospitals. We highly recommend that children do not visit during this time.

Privacy and dignity - same sex accommodation

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) is committed to providing high quality care to patients, carers and relatives at all times and provides a service which upholds their privacy and dignity at each stage of their care and treatment.

We are proud to confirm that we are compliant with the Government’s requirement to eliminate mixed-sex accommodation, except when it is in the patient’s overall best interest, or reflects their personal choice. Sharing with members of the opposite sex will only happen in exceptional circumstances such as where patients need urgent or very specialised care; or when patients actively choose to share.

Children and young people often benefit and feel more comfortable sharing with others their own age, rather than their own sex. Staff will ask the child or young person if they have a preference and will meet this request wherever possible.

HHFT has a reporting and auditing system to ensure that we are achieving our aim of providing single-sex accommodation for our patients.

We want to know about your experiences. If you have any comments or concerns please contact our patient experience manager via email enquiries@hhft.nhs.uk
