Quality and safety within Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is managed under the heading of Governance.

What is Governance?

Governance is a framework that promotes continuous improvement and high standards across all areas by creating an environment that allows excellence to flourish.  It covers both clinical and non-clinical activity and ensures the quality of services provided by the Foundation Trust.

Good governance is the responsibility of every employee at the hospital. It helps us to ensure we deliver the best possible care within a safe and secure environment.

What does it involve?

Governance is embedded across the whole organisation and;

  • focuses on improving quality and safety for all our patients
  • helps us to support good practices across all areas of our care
  • provides a way of reducing risks and promoting open communications
  • encourages us to listen to our patients and their feedback

How can you help?

As a patient, relative or carer you have a unique view of the way in which we all deliver our services. You may have suggestions for changes in practice that you feel would make our services better or have ideas for new developments. Your feedback is important to us, as it helps us to monitor the quality of care and service provided and highlights areas in need of improvement.
