Anne Howard - Apprentice Clinical Nurse Assistant

Anne Howard (1)After working in care homes for several years, Anne came to Hampshire Hospitals keen to build on the skills she already had as a healthcare support worker. She embarked on the Level 3 Clinical Nurse Assistant apprenticeship and already has her sights set on her next challenge.

She said: “The apprenticeship has helped me to see the bigger picture. I’m learning not only how to care for my patients, but also getting a wider sense of why I am doing things.

“I am really enjoying the apprenticeship and seriously considering going on and continuing my training to an even higher level when I have finished, either in nursing or as a paramedic.

“I was worried that at 54, I was too old to go back to learning, but that could not have been further from the truth. I’ve really enjoyed it and the support I have received from my colleagues, the Trust and my tutor has been incredible.

“There are so many options to progress in the Trust and apprenticeships are a great way to make the most of them.”
