Car parking and travel to work

The car-parking provision within the Foundation Trust is regularly reviewed with a view to improving the current facilities for both staff and visitors. Staff parking is free.

Information and timetables for bus services which serve the Foundation Trust can be obtained from Traveline on 0871 200 22 33 or from Stagecoach or from their offices at the bus stations in Basingstoke and Winchester.

There are a range of initiatives already in place in the local area such as a Hampshire wide car-share scheme


On site accommodation

At Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital there is accommodation on site. Single subsidised, en-suite rooms are available for rent through Optivo.  The on-site accommodation has recently been rebuilt and offers a minimal commute to work with no travel expenses.

Purchasing your own home

Certain staff groups within the NHS may be eligible for assistance to either rent or purchase property under the Key Worker Living Scheme. There are a number of Key Worker developments in and around the Hampshire area. Visit Help to Buy  for more information.


There are a range of local childcare providers who may offer discounted dialy rates or reducted joining fees to NHS staff. Please contact them directly for further information. Details of local childcare facilities can be obtained from the Hampshire County Council website  or contacting Hampshire Children’s Information Service on 0845 603 5620.

Fideliti childcare voucher scheme

Fideliti provide the childcare vouchers for the Foundation Trust which can be used to pay for childcare services for children up to 15 years old (16 if the child is disabled) at over 40,000 participating providers.

  • Your childcare provider must accept Accor vouchers for it to be of any benefit to you

  • Your childcare payments are made from your salary (a maximum of £243 per month can be sacrificed)
  • The amount you sacrifice is deducted before any tax or NI is taken from your salary, therefore you save money
  • You can double your savings by both parents joining the scheme with their employers

There are a number of local childcare providers who offer discount to Foundation Trust staff either a percentage off the daily or weekly rate and / or no administration / joining fee. You will need to take a pay slip or id badge to provide proof of employment.

Discounts for NHS staff

HHFT staff can access Health Service Discounts - the official NHS employee benefit provider to over 700 NHS organisations.

Trade unions and professional associations

Staff are supported if they wish to belong to an appropriate trade union or professional association. Membership is not a condition of service, but participation has always been encouraged. Facilities are available within Foundation Trust premises for use by the unions and professional associations.
