About volunteering

Volunteers Matter

Our Foundation Trust is consistently rated as one of the best for patient care and our volunteer force are a vital component. It is a source of immense pride to us that we have over 500 volunteers not only in the main hospitals but also out in the community.

Volunteers at Hampshire play a crucial part in ensuring that patients have the best possible experience. A cheery welcome, someone to show patients and visitors where to go, a bedside conversation or newspaper from the trolley can make a real difference to our patients. Helping a patient to find their way to their appointment, complete a form, or encourage someone to eat is invaluable support to our staff.  Not a day goes by without someone, whether staff, patients or visitors, benefiting from the selfless generosity of volunteers.
