Visiting restrictions at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital will be lifted from 9am on Tuesday 24 December.

Visiting remains restricted to between 6pm and 8pm on all wards on December 23 due to an outbreak of norovirus (diarrhoea and vomiting). Visiting will only be permitted outside of 6pm-8pm in the most exceptional circumstances and must be cleared with the nurse in charge of the ward in advance in each case. It is strongly recommended that children under 12 do not visit.

If you have diarrhoea and vomiting, stay at home and drink plenty of fluids. If you are concerned contact NHS 111. Norovirus is highly contagious, so remember to practice good hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water.

If you have experienced any diarrhoea or vomiting help us to keep our patients safe by not visiting until you have been clear of symptoms for at least 48 hours.

Flu is also prevelant in the community at the moment and we are starting to see more people with flu needing our help. If you experience flu-like symptoms, help us to prevent an outbreak in our hospitals by not visiting until the symptoms subside.
