The purpose of antenatal care is monitor your health, your baby’s health and support you to make plans which are right for you.

Once your pregnancy is confirmed, the midwife will arrange to meet up with you for a 'booking visit'. The midwife is usually associated with your local GP practice and this should be your first point of contact.

During each antenatal visit, we will check that you and your baby are well, give you useful information about being pregnant and answer any questions you may have. You will also be offered antenatal classes, including breastfeeding workshops.
