Our team consists of six paediatric dietitians who work with both inpatients and outpatients.

We work closely with paediatricians, childrens’ community nurses (CCNs), speech and language therapists and other healthcare professionals.

We see children with a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Faltering growth
  • Allergies
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Gastrointestinal diseases
  • Diabetes
  • Neonatal
  • Weight management
  • Home enteral feeding
  • Selective eating
  • Vitamin/mineral deficiencies

We run outpatient clinics at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
 
We also see children in clinics in community hospitals/heath centres in Alton and Andover. Initial consultations take approximately 30 minutes and will involve a full nutritional assessment with recommendations by the dietitian.
 
Follow up appointments are generally allocated 15 minutes.

Our inpatient service covers the paediatric wards in Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Royal Hampshire County Hospital as well as their respective day units,Charlies Day Unit (CDU) and Sophie’s place.
