At Hampshire Hospitals, our vision is simple:
Helping people live better lives through care designed around them.
Our new five-year strategy sets out how we will improve care for patients, support our staff and build a sustainable future for healthcare across Mid and North Hampshire. Developed with patients, families, carers, staff and partners, it reflects what matters most to the communities we serve.
As healthcare continues to change, we are committed to delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality care while embracing new ways of working, modern technology and stronger partnerships across our local health and care system.
Our strategic priorities
Over the next five years, we will focus on three strategic priorities. Beneath these are nine objectives:
Underpinned by our values
Our iCARE values are at the heart of who we are. They guide how we work together, make decisions and care for patients. By living our values every day, we create a culture where people feel respected, supported and able to do their best. Our behaviours framework will help bring these values to life, setting out the behaviours we expect from one another and supporting us to challenge behaviours that do not reflect our values. Our strategy is underpinned by our values:
Why we need a new strategy
The healthcare needs of our communities are changing. People are living longer, demand for services continues to grow and more people are living with complex and long-term health conditions. At the same time, healthcare is evolving, with greater opportunities to provide care closer to home, use digital technology and focus more on prevention.
Our strategy sets out how we will respond to these challenges and opportunities while continuing to provide high-quality care and making the best use of NHS resources.
Building the strategy together
This strategy has been shaped by the people who use, deliver and support our services. Over a number of months, we heard from staff, patients, members, stakeholders and people across our wider community through a variety of activities, including workshops, our digital questionnaire and one-to-one conversations with those in our leadership team. Your views, experiences and ideas have helped shape the priorities and ambitions set out in this strategy.
Patient voice has been vital in creating this strategy and will continue to be central to how we deliver it. As we set out in the strategy, we are striving to do more alongside and together with patients, listening to what matters most to them and involving them in designing services, improving care and shaping decisions. By working in partnership, we will create services that better meet the needs of our communities.
Delivering the strategy together
Delivering this strategy will take a one-team approach. We will work alongside patients, carers, families, staff and partners to shape and improve services and will regularly review our progress, ensuring our plans continue to respond to the changing needs of our communities.
Together, we will help people live better lives through care designed around them.
