Outpatients are seen in community locations including community hospitals, health centres and GP surgeries.
Initial consultations take approximately 30 minutes and will involve a full nutritional assessment with recommendations by the dietitian.
Follow up appointments are generally allocated 15 minutes.
Dietitians support and educate patients, their families and carers on therapeutic diets for conditions such as:
- Malnutrition
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Coeliac disease
- Food allergies
- Diabetes
- Cancer
- Difficulty swallowing
- Diverticular disease
- Inflammatory bowel disease
