The team, which is made up of nine consultants, were presented with a certificate from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RCOG), who collected results from a nationwide survey asking junior doctors about the quality of training they received while on placement.

The participants in the survey were asked to rate the department on their basic ultrasound, general and procedural training, as well as giving an overall recommendation. They rated the team at Winchester hospital very highly, giving excellent feedback and highly recommending them.

Renee Behrens, obstetrics and gynaecology consultant at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital and Andover War Memorial Hospital said: “All our consultants are enthusiastic about training future consultants and this award only confirms our dedication and interest.

“We work with the trainees in teams, giving them individualised support and allowing the consultants to get to know them better in order to tailor training to their needs.

“I’m really proud of the team who all work so hard to provide the best learning experience we possibly can for all our junior doctors.”
