Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has announced that current COVID-19 restrictions will remain in place at its hospitals across Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester after national COVID-19 restrictions are eased from 27 January.
As part of the measures that will continue at the trust’s sites, all patients, visitors and staff are required to wear a surgical face mask. It is also important that people only visit loved ones at previously booked times, and you must not visit hospital if feeling unwell.
These measures are necessary to ensure the safety of all patients, visitors and staff and are consistently kept under regular review.
Dr Lara Alloway, Hampshire Hospitals’ chief medical officer, said: “Although national COVID-19 restrictions are now beginning to ease, the guidance at our hospitals remains in place.
“It’s incredibly important that everyone continues to follow these measures when visiting our sites, including wearing a face mask, keeping apart from others and regularly washing or sanitising your hands.
“We care for some of the most vulnerable people in our community, and these actions are essential to protect our patients, visitors and staff – ensuring our teams can continue to be there for everyone who needs our care.”
“Our current visiting guidelines remain in place, welcoming one visitor per bay, per hour following COVID checks completed by the ward teams. Separate guidelines are in place when visiting our children and maternity departments and for those receiving end of life care. Please continue to agree your visit in advance and follow all steps before and during your visit.
