As of 1 April 2023, masks are no longer mandatory in outpatient areas, with a limited number of exceptions. We are asking patients, visitors and staff to wear a facemask at all times in clinical areas, including inpatient wards and the emergency department.

The outpatient areas where masks will still be enforced are: Nick Jonas unit, the Firs, Lyford day unit, and Colebrook unit. If you are unsure, please contact your ward or department before visiting. Staff will still be required to wear a mask in unscheduled care emergency assessment and day units, however this will be optional for visitors (excluding those listed above).

Good hygiene remains important; please remember to disinfect hands regularly and do not visit our hospitals if you feel unwell or have symptoms of Covid-19, diarrhoea or vomiting.

Trust guidance is reviewed regularly to ensure that we are providing the best possible care for our community, continuing to protect patients and staff.
