As a Trust we will be participating in NHS England’s new National Neonatal Care Experience Survey this year.  The survey will help monitor what’s working well and how neonatal care services could be improved, both locally and nationally.  All eligible parents or guardians of babies who are discharged from Hampshire Hospital’s neonatal care units at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital or from the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester in June, July, or August 2025 may be contacted to take part in the survey.

The survey will be carried out by Picker a survey provider on behalf of NHS England.  If parents or guardians are invited to take part, they may be contacted by letter or SMS and sent reminders by Picker as an approved researcher.

Participation in the survey is voluntary, and people can opt out. Responses will be anonymous; the results of the survey will be presented in a form that does not allow any individual’s answers to be identified.

NHS England have applied to an independent oversight group which includes members of the public, to provide support for confidential patient information to be accessed to identify people to respond to this survey.

NHS England will be applying to the Department of Health and Social Care for exemption from the National Data Opt Out for his survey  For further information visit Understanding the national data opt-out - NHS England Digital

If exemption is granted, eligible parents or guardians of babies who are discharged from our neonatal care units at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital or the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester in June, July, or August 2025 might be invited to take part in the survey.

If you do not wish to take part, or have any questions about the survey please contact our PALS and Complaints team on 01256 486766 or via email PALSandcomplaints@hhft.nhs.uk

Seeking feedback and taking account of the views of the people who use our services is really important for bringing about improvements in the care we provide and understanding what really matters to our patients, their families and carers.

We will work with our staff and patients to use the feedback from this survey to help improve patient’s experiences of the care we provide.
