Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) has received a record-breaking 904 nominations for its 2026 Hampshire Hospitals People Awards, highlighting the outstanding contribution of staff across its hospitals in Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover.
The Hampshire Hospitals People Awards, which recognise excellence in patient care, innovation, leadership and teamwork, have seen an unprecedented response from patients, staff and members of the public. This year’s total represents the highest number of nominations ever received and reflects the continued dedication and compassion shown by teams across the Trust.
The People Awards initiative celebrates and recognises the achievements of individuals and teams who go above and beyond to support patients, colleagues and local communities. Each nomination provides a unique insight into the impact staff make every day, delivering exceptional care and creating positive experiences for patients and families. 
Sue Harriman, Chief Executive for Hampshire Hospitals, said: “The number of nominations we’ve received this year is a wonderful reflection of the pride people feel in our staff and the difference they make every day.
“What stands out most is the breadth of stories that have been shared with us during the nomination process, from moments of extraordinary clinical care to small but meaningful gestures that have stayed with patients and families and had a real impact. It’s great to see so many of our brilliant colleagues and teams recognised in this way.”
As part of the award celebrations, nominees will be recognised at a series of tea party events. Shortlisting panels will then review entries in detail before the award finalists are announced ahead of a special awards ceremony later this year.
