Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) is celebrating an outpouring of appreciation for its dedicated staff after receiving a record-breaking 833 nominations for this year’s Hampshire Hospitals People Awards.
The Hampshire Hospitals People Awards, which run annually to honour the extraordinary efforts of staff across the Trust’s hospitals in Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover, saw an overwhelming response from colleagues, patients and the public. This year’s total marks the highest number of nominations ever received, highlighting the care and compassion shown by teams working across the Trust.
The Hampshire Hospitals People Awards celebrate a range of achievements across eight categories, including inclusivity, innovation, collaboration, patient care and experience and leadership. Each nomination is a chance to recognise individuals and teams who make a real difference to patients and colleagues alike.
Alex Whitfield, chief executive for Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said:
“It is truly inspiring to see so many nominations recognising the outstanding care, dedication and hard work of our teams and individuals. Each nomination tells a story of compassion, innovation and teamwork, and I want to thank everyone who took the time to nominate a member of staff or a team. It is a testament to the incredible people we have at Hampshire Hospitals who work so hard every day to support our patients and each other.”
Rupert Goodman, deputy chief people officer for HHFT, commented:
“The volume and quality of nominations we’ve received this year have been fantastic and reading these heartfelt messages of gratitude and admiration is a reminder of the extraordinary dedication of our teams. Shortlisting finalists will not be easy, as every nomination represents someone who has made a significant impact to our patients, hospitals, colleagues and communities.”
All of this year’s nominees will be invited to special tea parties at Royal Hampshire County Hospital or Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. Following these celebrations, shortlisting panels will carefully review nominations for each award and create a shortlist of finalists for a special awards ceremony in the summer.
