A spokesperson for Hampshire Hosptials NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“As part of Hampshire Hospitals resilience planning additional, temporary, mortuary capacity has been placed on its Basingstoke site.

“To date the trust has not required additional capacity. However, similar steps have already been taken at other nearby trusts and the measure is part of a carefully co-ordinated national plan to ensure the NHS can cope with any eventuality over the next 12 months.”
