Work is progressing well on the new multi-million pound redevelopment to move Andover Health Centre Medical Practice to a brand new, purpose-built wing on the site of Andover War Memorial Hospital.
The demolition of the old Chapel End building has now been completed (photos attached) and some of the new car park has been finished. The next steps for the redevelopment will be to start laying the foundations for the new building.
The new site has been redesigned following lessons learned during the Covid pandemic, including additional space and improved ventilation.
The development will provide a modern healthcare setting for more than 14,000 registered patients and surgery staff, as well as an NHS special care dental service.

We would also like to say thank you to local residents, and apologise for any inconvenience which may have been caused due to the building work.”
The new home of Andover Health Centre Medical Practice (AHCMP) GP surgery is a result of long-term partnership working between Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and NHS West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (now part of the newly created Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight CCG, since merger on 1 April), and will replace the existing building.

The building work is due to be completed in February 2022.
