Following your cancer diagnosis you will agree a treatment plan with your consultant.
Following that appointment you will be invited to have a discussion with one of our SACT nurses. You will be able to go through your treatment plan in more detail and ask any question or raise any concerns that you may have.
We would encourage you to watch the below videos before this appointment. If you are unable to access them then please let us know at the beginning of your appointment and we can talk you through them.
Getting started, pre-treatment checks and treatment
Our units may have additional steps in place to keep our patients safe. Please see our latest guidance here. This may differ from more general hospital information.
During your treatment with us, you may also continue to have involvement from other specialty teams. You will have a clinical nurse specialist as your main point of contact who you can go to with any queries. If you are not sure who this is please bring this up at your next appointment. You may finish your systemic anti-cancer treatment with us and be discharged. This decision will be discussed by you and your consultant and any ongoing care and monitoring will be managed under your original specialty.
