If you have been referred for Phototherapy with us, please find the information below about your treatment.
UVA therapy requires you to attend for a 30 minute appointment 3 times a fortnight. Treatment days are Mondays, Fridays and Wednesdays. We shall contact you to book your initial appointment which is 1 hour long.
If you have not heard from us within 3 months of being referred by the doctor, please call and leave a message on the appropriate number on the previous page. This applies for both Winchester and Andover treatment.
Unfortunately, UVA treatment is not available in Andover.
The term phototherapy is a form of treatment where fluorescent light bulbs are used to treat skin conditions.
Natural sunlight has been known to be beneficial in certain skin disorders for thousands of years, and it is the ultraviolet part of the radiation produced by the sun that is used in phototherapy, in particular the ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) wavelengths of light- British Association of Dermatologists.
