Useful information
D2 is a 18-bedded acute trauma, orthopaedic and ambulatory care ward admitting patients directly from the Emergency Department, via referral from the Fracture Clinic, and from home for planned surgery. The ward also accepts spinal patients transferred from the Major Trauma Unit in Southampton for ongoing management and rehabilitation.
As with All other inpatient wards at Hampshire Hospitals D2 have adopted Johns campaign, which allows the carers of patients with dementia to stay in hospital with their loved ones if they wish. Please speak to a senior member of staff if you feel this has not been honoured. #Johnscapaign
We also strongly support #EndPJParalysis, encouraging patients to get dressed and mobilise as soon as safe to do, to help with a positive attitude and encouraging activity that can help recovery.
