The Hand Therapy service provides specialist assessment and rehabilitation for patients with hand and forearm conditions. We are a Multi-professional team of occupational therapists and physiotherapists working across professional boundaries as Hand Therapists. We pride ourselves in providing a one stop shop for patients, with assessment and rehabilitation provided alongside dressing changes, suture removal and splinting needs (both off the shelf and bespoke thermoplastic).
The service predominantly provides clinics at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester. We have a physiotherapist with an interest in hand injuries providing rehabilitation in Alton and are developing clinics in Andover to prevent patients needing to travel either to Winchester or Basingstoke.
The rheumatology therapy service provides specialist occupational therapy assessment and rehabilitation for patients referred from the consultant rheumatologist clinics.
The service runs on the Basingstoke and Winchester sites and is provided by a team of specialist occupational therapists who work closely with musculoskeletal physiotherapists and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide global rehabilitation for all rheumatological conditions. This includes; education, splinting, functional rehabilitation and class based rehab to name but a few.
