Meet Yvonne, Associate Director QI

Please introduce yourself, your job title, how long you've been in your current role, and how long you've worked at HHFT?

Hi, I’m Yvonne and I’m the Associate Director for Quality Improvement. I’ve been in my current post for six years and have worked at HHFT since 2009.

How do you explain your role in the QI team to those that may be unfamiliar with Quality Improvement?

I am responsible for developing and implementing the HHFT Improvement Strategy. I lead and manage the Quality Improvement team, and together we support HHFT staff to lead improvement within their services to improve patient care and outcomes. We do this by providing improvement training, advice, support and coaching via the QI Academy and divisional QI leads.

How did you end up where you are now? What has your career journey looked like up to this point?

I started my healthcare career as a physiotherapist before moving into operational management in the medical division at HHFT. I then spent time working in governance before eventually moving into my current role leading Quality Improvement.

What have been a highlight for you at work recently?

A particular highlight this year has been seeing and hearing from staff who have led their own improvement work at our recent HHFT Improvement Conference.

What would you say to someone who was curious about Quality Improvement and how the tools/methodology could help them in their roles, but were unsure of where to start?

Everyone is an improver – give it a go! Please do contact the QI team and learn how we can provide support to you.
