To refer a patient for discussion at our Clinical Radiological Assessment Meeting (CRAM), please provide as much of the following information as possible:

Required Documentation

  • A referral letter addressed to the Peritoneal Malignancy Institute (PMI), Basingstoke. Please note that an IPTF alone is not sufficient.
  • Relevant imaging reports. Imaging should be sent or requested via IEP.
  • Histology report and histology slides (where applicable) for review.
  • Operation notes.
  • Colonoscopy report (if performed).
  • Tumour marker results, including: CEA, CA125, CA19.9
     

Funding Approval
For patients referred from outside England and Scotland, funding approval must be obtained prior to referral.

Funding approval is also required for Scottish patients referred with colorectal peritoneal metastasis.

For patients already known to PMI Basingstoke, please contact the administration team at pmi.admin@hhft.nhs.uk.

 

Histology Slide Review Only
For requests relating solely to histology slide review, please provide:

  • Patient name
  • Patient address
  • Date of birth
  • NHS number
  • Referrer's name
  • GP name and address
  • Histology report
  • Histology slides

Peritoneal Mesothelioma Referrals
Referrals for patients with peritoneal mesothelioma follow a slightly different process. These cases are not discussed at the weekly CRAM meeting and are instead reviewed at a dedicated specialist peritoneal mesothelioma MDT meeting, which takes place twice each month.
