Hampshire Hospitals provides adult out-patient MSK physiotherapy, to patients aged 16 and over, across three locations; Alton, Basingstoke and Winchester. All three sites offer a variety of treatment specialties through individual sessions or group rehabilitation. Access to the service is via healthcare referral only. Our hydrotherapy service is only located at Winchester.
Physiotherapy is indicated when it hastens recovery by relieving signs and symptoms, reduces anxiety/fear avoidance and /or helps restore function.
NB: Regular long-term maintenance treatment is not offered except in relation to education on self-management, where no physio treatment by our service has been given within the last 12 months

If you are a health professional and do not have a copy of our referral form and referral criteria please contact us on the above email address.
All patients will be contacted by us on receipt of referral:
- Urgent: within 2 working days via telephone to arrange appointment within 2 weeks
- Routine: letter or email sent within 2 working days acknowledging referral and offering contact details and advice links.
LOCATION OF TREATMENT: Patients will be offered the most appropriate site for their treatment based on; patient request, current site waiting times and location of expertise. It is not aways possible for the patient to have treatment at their preferred site and this can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

The Pelvic health physiotherapy team hold clinics at Winchester and Basingstoke predominantly but also have some clinics at Alton Community Hospital and Andover War Memorial hospital.
They work as part of the urogynaecology team to help with symptoms which can be related to pelvic floor dysfunction. These may include symptoms related to your bladder, bowel and sexual function. You can also be referred to our service by your GP or your midwife.
