Dr Mehmood Chaudhry, consultant emergency medicine

Currently, I am working as consultant Emergency Medicine at HHFT for last 1 year. I have special interest in trauma management and digitalisation of the department. Previously, I have been working as consultant in Emergency Medicine at SKMC Hospital Abu Dhabi for 6 and half years. Earlier, I worked as consultant in Emergency Medicine at University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW), UK; a level 1 trauma centre for 13 years.


I have been clinical director of ED between September 2007 and August 2010 for 3 years and I led sustainable growth in quality improvement measures and the consultant team. 


I have been external examiner of College of Emergency Medicine (CEM) for over 10 years and this role has enabled me to focus on delivering high quality training locally and provided opportunity to meet speciality colleagues regularly. For 3 years, I had been quality assurance lead  in the West Midland Deanery for Emergency Medicine training and lead regualr visits to regional Emergency Departments to validate the training in EM. In the UAE, I was programme Director of ER residenecy programme of our hospital at SKMC for 2 years. For 3 years, I had been active member of Audit and Standard Sub-committee of Clinical Effectiveness Committee (CEC) of College of Emergency Medicine (CEM) and in this role played active role in setting up national standards and audit programme.


I was Principal investigator at UHCW for 3MG national randomised trial for 2 years in 2009-10. I have published few articles in peer review journals and presented in national and international conferences over the years.
