Experience:

Consultant Surgeon at HHFT for over 15 years with a National specialist practice in complex liver surgery.  Ben provides surgery for liver cancer and complex benign liver, pancreas and gallbladder problems as well as for cancers that have spread to deep abdominal lymph nodes and soft tissues.  He has been a Medical Director at the Trust for over 5 years and has a prominent role in shaping Trust strategy and services as well as upholding high standards of quality through his work at the Trust and for the Parliamentary Health Service Ombusdman.

Research:

Ben has a doctorate level research degree and is a Professor of Surgery at St George’s International Medical school.  He has over 200 publications in surgical journals, regularly reviews papers for a number of journals and is the Clinical Editor of Surgery Journal.
