Mr Mumith is a Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in joint preservation, sports injury reconstruction and joint replacement surgery. He believes in saving the patients’ natural joint and provides the full spectrum of surgical services to achieve this. He is an expert in and offers surgery for cartilage, meniscus and ligament damage as well as issues with kneecap instability. He provides realignment surgery to delay the need for joint replacement in young adults with arthritis or managing more complex lower limb issues. When appropriate, he offers the full complement of joint replacement surgery for those with established arthritis.

Upon graduating from University College London Medical School, he completed his postgraduate training in London and Hampshire during which he also received a PhD for work based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He subsequently became the Lower Extremity Reconstruction Fellow under the Schatzker Joint Preservation Initiative. He was based at the University of Toronto in one of the highest volume units in the world. This was followed by a further fellowship at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, a European centre of excellence in orthopaedic surgery where he continued as a consultant. His prize-winning pioneering work in the field of 3D-printed implant technology and limb re-alignment has been recognised internationally with the development of several patents. He is an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida where he continues his scientific endeavours, collaborating with a network of surgeons and scientists across the globe. He continues to publish in his field of expertise, is the editor of several texts and is principle investigator in his hospital for a number of ongoing studies.

He started his consultant career at the renowned Royal Orthopaedic Hospital as part of the Arthroscopy & Large Joint Reconstruction Division. He transitioned to his current post where he spent part of his specialist training and prides himself on providing a comprehensive surgical service for his patients. He is one of only a handful of surgeons who forms part of the acclaimed Osteotomy Unit based in North Hampshire Hospital managing patients from across the country as well as training other surgeons.

By combining his academic background with technical expertise acquired at world-renowned centres, Mr Mumith employs state of the art surgical techniques and innovations to deliver the highest standard of care to his patients.
