My specialist interests include the treatment of lymphoma and as such I help to run the lymphoid clinic at BNHFT and attend the UHS lymphoma clinic monthly alongside the MDT.
I enjoy working as part of a community and so endeavour to provide care close to home by having a general haematology clinic in Alton where I attend monthly and see patients with a range of haematological diagnoses both cancer and non-cancer.
I maintain an interest in the care of patients with acute leukaemias’ and share in providing inpatient care on Wessex Ward and outpatient care through the Rainbow Units for these patients in the HHFT catchment and actively take part in the MDT. As part of my role, I help to support the diagnostic haematology laboratories in HHFT reporting on blood film and bone marrow morphology. I aim to work to continue to modernise our service by supporting our excellent team of biomedical scientists.
I have a keen interest in education and quality improvement. I am Training Programme Director for haematology in Wessex working to ensure junior doctors achieve excellent training to become competent, compassionate consultants who strive to ensure exceptional patient-directed care.
I have also taken on the role of SACT (systemic anti-cancer therapy lead) for HHFT in 2021 and work in partnership with the Nursing, AHP, management and patient teams to promote safe and effective care. I hold the Lead role for Teenage and Young Adult cancer care in the Trust and aim to work closely with our UHS centre to promote great care for this patient group within HIOW.
Alongside this, I am a mum to 2 girls and wife to an exceptionally patient husband and appreciate the challenges and opportunities of working in Hampshire. As a family, we try to contribute to our local community and you may often find us taking part or helping at the Park run at the weekends.
