I set up and developed the one stop clinics for breast cancer, providing same day mammography, ultrasound and biopsy at Basingstoke. From 1994 - 2007 and 2014 - 2016 I was the lead for breast cancer services, establishing a multidisciplinary team which discusses all patients with a new or potential breast cancer.
I run a monthly general paediatric surgery clinic on G Floor at Basingstoke, in the main paediatric department, where I see all the more minor surgical problems of childhood, from circumcisions to toenails, from missing testes to hernias. These children then undergo surgery as a day case in the DTC on a dedicated list which is held once a fortnight.
My broader healthcare interests include the best use of technology in medicine, patient safety, and improving communication.
