Experience
Mr Struss is a consultant urological surgeon who joined the Trust in August 2022.
He has subspecialist interest in uro-oncology and particular expertise in prostate cancer diagnostics and treatment management including minimally invasive focal therapy modalities.
Mr Struss is also experienced in High Dose Brachytherapy application and administration of peri-rectal spacing agents prior to planned external beam radiotherapy for prostate cancer which is an area of interest for expansion in the Trust.
Besides his clinical commitments Mr Struss has completed a Medical Doctorate at the University of a Berlin (2011), a PhD in translational medicine at the University of Portsmouth (2020) and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Medical School of the University of Southampton.

Research
Mr Struss has several high impact peer-reviewed publications (list of publications) and accolades for his research work to date in addition to completing book chapters with Springer Nature on uro-oncological topics (Using patient derived xenografts (PDX) for biomarker development; Risk stratification of bladder cancer patients with NMIBC and MIBC).
