When to Seek Help: Your First Steps

For General Hearing or Balance Concerns:

If you've noticed changes in your hearing, or you're experiencing dizziness or balance issues, your first point of contact should be your General Practitioner (GP).

Your GP will assess your symptoms and, if necessary, refer you to our Audiology department or another appropriate specialist

For Sudden Hearing Loss: Immediate Action Required

If you experience a sudden loss of hearing in one or both ears, this is a medical emergency. Go immediately to your nearest Accident and Emergency (A&E) department. Prompt treatment, ideally within 48 hours, is crucial for the best chance of recovery.
