The haematology departments based at Basingstoke and Winchester treats patients with all types of blood disorders. The majority of patients have a diagnosis of cancer and are undergoing chemotherapy, but we also care for patients with non-cancerous blood conditions.
Our team is led by our haematology consultants supported by a multi-professional team. The consultants are based between Winchester and Basingstoke sites. We strive for quality and the best patient care through dedication and clinical trials.
We have special interests in lymphoma, myeloma and transfusion, running dedicated lymphoma and myeloma clinics as well as general haematology clinics. We are fostering strong links with the university research departments of Southampton and Oxford.
Our haematology team runs a 10-bed inpatient ward in Basingstoke (Wessex Ward) and two daycare units in both Basingstoke (Rainbow Unit) and Winchester (Nick Jonas ward) for the diagnosis and treatment of haematological disorders.
We run outpatient clinics in both Alton and Andover so people can be seen and some of the treatments are provided closer to their homes.
