You will be given contact details for your community midwifery team so that you can get in touch for any non-urgent enquiries, such as making appointments throughout your pregnancy.
Concerns about your pregnancy
- If you are less than 20 weeks pregnant, you can also contact your own GP or get advice via 111 if you have any concerns.
- If you are over 20 weeks pregnant and you have concerns, or think you are in labour you can get advice and support from our maternity team via the Healthier Together website or app. You can download the app on the App Store or on Google Play.
The Healthier Together app asks you to describe your symptoms and it will then decide if you fall into a red, amber, or green category. The outcomes of those categories are:
- Red: These may be an emergency, and you need to call a health professional immediately, often by calling 999.
- Amber: You will be advised to call the maternity triage line if the concern is maternity related
- Green: You will be directed to information to help you self-care at home.
For both red and amber you can press a button on the app and you will be automatically connected to 999 or the triage line. The maternity triage line has a midwife waiting to take your call ask about your symptoms and give you advise. They may invite you to attend the Maternity Day Assessment Unit (MDAU) or chosen place of birth for further assessment.
Postnatal
Our postnatal coordinators are based
in Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals. They receive details of your discharge home from the postnatal ward. If you have any queries or concerns, or if you feel you would like to be seen before your next booked appointment, please contact us as below.
If you have had your baby at home or at the maternity centre in Andover, you can expect the midwife to stay with you for about two hours after the birth. After this time, please contact the numbers below if you have any problems.
