Welcome to our new Patient Research Ambassadors

We are excited to announce that R&D has taken on a small team of four Patient Research Ambassadors (PRAs). PRAs are volunteers who are passionate about health research and want to promote opportunities for more people to get involved. They can also provide a public and patient perspective to shape research studies and our research strategy. The types of activities that PRAs can be involved in include (but are not limited to):

  • Raising awareness of research to patients, carers and the local community,
  • Commenting on research study design and documentation,
  • Being part of study steering groups
  • Attending meetings to represent the patient/public perspective.

Our PRAs have particular interests and experience in the following fields: learning disability, mental health, cancer and diabetes, as well as encouraging inclusion and engagement. Please do get in touch to find out more, or to request input from the PRAs. You would be very welcome to come and discuss your research study at one of our regular meetings.

Introductions and profiles of our volunteers will follow in due course.
