IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The Trust is currently restricting patient and visitor access and would ask that, where possible, patients attend for their appointment unaccompanied.  Where this is not possible only one person should attend with the patient and children should not be brought on site.

Is it safe to come into the hospital?

The Trust have made every effort to ensure that our patients are safe when they visit the hospital.

Is it in the same place as usual?

Yes. Please arrive on time for your appointment, no earlier, to avoid crowding in the waiting area - otherwise you may be asked to wait outside.

Is there anything I need to do differently?

Yes. Please make an appointment for your blood test via our online booking service or you can call us, details above. Please arrive on time for your appointment, no earlier, otherwise you may be asked to wait outside. .

What are we doing differently to shield patients?

The Trust have moved the phlebotomy service to appointment only. Please make an appointment for your blood test via our online booking service or you can call us, details above. Our phlebotomists will be wearing the appropriate PPE according to the Government guidelines.

I am on the vulnerable patient list, should I still come in?

Please contact your GP or consultant for further clarification.

Will the waiting area be busy?

No, as we have moved to appointment only, there will be very few patients in the waiting area.

Will the phlebotomist be wearing a mask?

Yes. Our phlebotomists will be wearing appropriate PPE, according to Government guidelines.

Do I need to wear a mask and gloves?

We will be following national guidance and information about masks and other precautions will be available as you enter the hospital.

How easy is it to park?

We are currently seeing less cars in the car park.

How long is it going to be appointments only?

We anticipate we shall be offering appointment only for the foreseeable future.

Will I get a reminder for my appointment?

If you have booked your appointment via our online booking tool, you will receive a confirmaion email of your blood test appointment and a reminder. If you called us to make the appointment, you will need to add the appointment details onto your calendar.
