Our service specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of benign breast disorders and breast cancer. Our multidisciplinary team of specialists work closely together to provide expert evidenced based care for our population across the three hospitals that make up Hampshire Hospitals.
We provide daily clinics for those referred by their GP with breast symptoms, in addition to a busy breast screening service, family history and follow up clinics. Our clinical nurse specialist team provide invaluable support for our patients and their families. Breast surgery is undertaken at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH) and the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital (BNH) using the latest oncoplastic techniques and oncology treatments are offered locally where possible. The breast unit, including breast outpatients and day surgery, is located on the first floor of the Diagnosis and Treatment Centre (DTC) at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. We have a dedicated unit, incorporating five consulting rooms, two mammography suites, one breast ultrasound suite, one quiet room, and an administration office. This purpose built unit enables us to provide a “One-stop” diagnostic service in one area, and much of the patient journey takes place here. This unit also incorporates breast screening facilities for assessment of patients in north Hampshire.
The women's health unit can be found in the Sherborne building.

The breast unit is situated in Florence Portal House. The unit has a dedicated theatre, women’s health ward (ATL), and breast unit offices on the ground floor.
The breast screening unit is on the first floor in Florence Portal House, along with most of our consulting outpatient facilities, mammography suite and two ultrasound rooms.
