Maternity Services

Welcome to Maternity Services

At Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we are proud of the high-quality maternity care we offer families at all stages of pregnancy, birth and caring for a new baby. We provide maternity services at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, Andover War Memorial Hospital and in the community, supporting nearly 5,000 women a year who give birth with us.

Many women experience very straightforward pregnancies and birth journeys and will have their care provided by midwives, with a range of options for birth including either of our obstetric units in Basingstoke or Winchester, Hampshire Hospitals Maternity Centre (our freestanding birth centre in Andover) or at home. As well as our fantastic midwifery-led care, we also provide an excellent obstetric model of care which includes specialist support for more complex pregnancies and health conditions. We have neonatal unit facilities on both main hospital sites and work closely with other hospitals across the region to access additional specialist services, such as fetal and maternal medicine. As one team we support each other across our two hospital sites and, although you will book at one of our hospitals, there are times when you may receive certain aspects of your care at our other hospital site.

We are very proud of our teamwork ethic, where staff from many disciplines and specialities work together to plan and deliver one-to-one care tailored to the needs of individual women. Whilst safety is a key priority for us, we also appreciate and value the importance of your experience and supporting your choices for your maternity care. You will find more information about this and the services we provide using the links below.

We welcome your feedback on your experience with us, both on what went well and what we can improve so we can ensure our services are meeting the needs of the families we care for. You can share your thoughts with us here.

If you would like to have your baby with us, please complete the online pregnancy registration form below which will notify our team, so we can be in contact to make your first midwife appointment. We are so pleased you are considering having your maternity care with us and look forward to supporting you and your baby during this unique and exciting time.
